DEFINITIONS

INTERNAL CONTROL SYSTEM (ICS): Utah Medical Cannabis database for seed-to-sale information hosted by MJ Freeway

ELECTRONIC VERIFICATION SYSTEM (EVS): Verification system for people and organizations participating in the Utah Medical Cannabis program.  i.e. Patients, QMPs, PMPs, Caregivers, Guardians, Pharmacists, etc.

PHARMACY AGENT: Employee at a Utah Medical Cannabis pharmacy

PHARMACY MEDICAL PROVIDER (PMP): Pharmacist at a Utah Medical Cannabis Pharmacy

RECOMMENDING MEDICAL PROVIDER (RMP): Utah‐licensed physicians (MD, DO,), advanced practice registered nurses (APRN), and
physician assistants (PA) who are registered through the Utah Department of Health’s Electronic Verification System
(EVS) to recommend cannabis. RMPs may also submit recommendations using paper-only applications that do not require registering in EVS.

UTAH DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (UDAF): The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food regulates Utah cannabis cultivators,
processors, and manages lab testing.

UTAH DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES (DHHS): DHHS regulates licensing for medical cannabis patients and medical providers.

DELIVERIES  PER COUNTY: Deliveries per county. County is determined by patient zip code in ICS. Includes dollar value and number of orders per county per month. 
Any month/county with less than 20 orders doesn't specify the number of orders. 

DELIVERIES PER MONTH: Total Deliveries per month. Pulled from ICS. 

FIRST PURCHASE PER COUNTY PER MONTH: Number of patients who have made their first purchase from a Utah medical cannabis pharmacy per month. 
County is determined by current patient zip code. 

FIRST PURCHASE PER MONTH: Number of patients who have made their first purchase from a Utah medical cannabis pharmacy per month.

NEW PATIENTS PER COUNTY: Number of patients who have been made active each month. Month is determined by when the patient's card was first made active.
County is determined by current patient zip code. 

PATIENT ACTIVITY: Number of patients that have made a number of purchases in recent timeframes. Days are counted back from the last day of the 
month of the most recent report. i.e. Patients who have made at least one purchase from September 2 to September 31 will be counted as having 'One or More' Purchases in the Last 30 Days. 

PATIENT QUALIFYING CONDITIONS: Count of active patients (meaning patients with active or pending renewal cards) by qualifying condition.

PATIENT STATUS PER MONTH: 'Activated Per Month’ Counts are based on current active patients. The month is determined by when they were
first made active. Since these counts are based on current active patients, counts in previous months may change as
patients expire and renew.
‘Expired per Month’ Counts are based on currently expired patients organized by the month of their most recent
expiration.
The ‘Renewals Per Month’ is the count of unique patients who had a card renewed any given month. Patients who
have never renewed are excluded.
‘Activations and Renewals per Month’ is the count of unique patients who had either a card activated or renewed any
given month.

PICKUPS PER COUNTY: Pharmacy pickups per county. County is determined by patient zip code in ICS. Includes dollar value and number of orders per county per month. 
Any month/county with less than 20 orders doesn't specify the number of orders.

PICKUPS PER MONTH: Total pharmacy pickups per month. Pickups are items ordered online and picked up in person at the Pulled from ICS. 

SALES BY TYPE PER MONTH: Quantity and value of items sold per month per category. $3 State fee is not included in these totals, which would otherwise be under 'Non Medicated'. Information pulled from ICS

SALES PER MONTH: Quantity and value of items sold per month.

UNIQUE PATIENTS MADE PURCHASE EACH MONTH: Number of unique patients who have made at least one purchase per calendar month. 
County is determined by current patient zip code. 

UNIQUE PATIENTS MADE PURCHASE EACH TWO MONTHS: Number of unique patients who have made at least one purchase per two calendar months. 
Each month will count the number of patients who have made at least one purchase for that month and the month previous. For instance, the September will represent the number of unique patients who have made a purchase in August and September for each county.
